Diatomaceous Earth (DE) Filters

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) filters provide the highest level of filtration available for residential swimming pools, capturing particles as small as 2–5 microns. The filter uses a fine powder made from fossilized diatoms, which coats a series of internal grids to create an ultra-fine filtering surface. As pool water passes through the coated grids, dirt, algae, dust, pollen, and other microscopic contaminants are trapped, producing exceptionally clear, polished water.

DE filters are ideal for pool owners who want the best possible water clarity, particularly for high-end pools, commercial pools, or pools with heavy bather loads. When the filter pressure rises, the filter should be backwashed to remove trapped debris before applying a fresh coating of DE powder. Periodic dismantling and cleaning of the internal grids is also recommended to maintain peak performance.

MultiCyclone Pre-Filter

A MultiCyclone is a highly efficient pre-filtration device designed to remove large amounts of dirt and debris before water reaches the main pool filter. Using centrifugal (cyclonic) technology, incoming water is spun at high speed through multiple hydrocyclones, forcing heavier particles to the outside where they settle into a clear collection chamber. This process can remove up to 80% of suspended solids before they enter the media, cartridge, or DE filter.

By capturing debris early, a MultiCyclone significantly reduces the workload on the main filtration system, resulting in longer filter cleaning intervals, improved water flow, and lower operating costs. The collected debris can be quickly removed by opening the purge valve at the bottom of the unit, eliminating the need to dismantle the filter for routine cleaning.
