Cartridge Filters
Cartridge filters use a pleated filter element to trap dirt, debris, and fine particles as water passes through. They offer excellent filtration performance with very low water resistance, helping improve circulation and reduce pump energy consumption. Unlike media filters, cartridge filters do not require backwashing, making them a water-efficient option. Instead, the cartridge is removed and cleaned periodically before eventually being replaced when it reaches the end of its service life. They are ideal for residential pools where water conservation and fine filtration are priorities.

Media Filters
Media filters use specially graded filter media such as silica sand, glass media, or activated filter media to remove contaminants from the water. As debris builds up, the filter can be cleaned by simply backwashing, flushing the trapped dirt to waste. Media filters are highly durable, require minimal routine maintenance, and are well suited to larger residential and commercial pools. The filter media typically lasts several years before needing replacement, making them a reliable long-term filtration solution.
